Not sure what Larkin has ever done to get the rep he seems to have with some. He plays at a 50 something point pace. This would be a pretty disastrous trade. Let him wither in Detroit.

Clearly you don’t watch Red Wings games 😂 Larkin is awesome. While he probably is suited more for either a first line winger or second line center role, he’s a great 2 way center who can literally do anything you want him too. Just on a bad team unfortunately, but wings on the come up

He’s a pretty good player. Settle down a bit tiger, I’m not saying he’s bad or anything. Perhaps you didn’t see the trade in this ACGM. Larkin isn’t worth that, or anything close to it. He’s not an elite player.

Interesting I completely disagree. I would say take away a first and its fair. Studnicka isn't a prime top C prospect, Senyshyn is looking like a career AHL callup, and Vladar has been good for like two games. In contrast you have a great two way center who is only faltering because 1. His team sucks and 2. because of that he's like a Patrice Bergeron who's being asked to create all his team's offense.

Also with the exception of this year (in which he was dealing with injuries) he's been playing closer to a 60-65 point pace over the 3 previous seasons. Once he's playing with Zadina and Vrana full time he'll be back at 60-70 points

When you don't watch the game but the point totals

It's not a bad comparison, he's like a moderately wealthy man's Bergeron

Or you could just keep the assets and sign krejci. Pretty simple.

Agreed. He reminds me a lot of Bergeron before Marchand broke out

The thing is Bergeron also reinvents himself - like he's turned into an elite bumper and a better shooter while in his thirties, and on top of that always been a better PKer than Larkin, but Dylan isn't that far off in terms of 5on5 qualities. He should be a pretty clear 1C to most people, especially if he can stay healthy.

First off Larkin is untouchable, And secondly that's nowhere near the ball park for Larkin.

So is he untouchable or not...?

Hopefully you turn it around sooner rather than when he's an UFA and you realize holding on to good players not only hindered your tanking ability, but hurt your long-term plans when you sign them as UFAs past their prime
