MARNER AND REILLY FOR JONES AND BJORKSTRAND

Description
Almost identical terms in the trade, although Columbus' better player has far more term (Marner), than the one Toronto receives (Jones). Only is completed if Jones re-signs, and likely if Reilly re-signs. Honestly don't think TOR would resign Reilly, nor should they. He is not good enough offensively to compensate for his poor defensive play, not what you want in a tight playoff series.

This also gives TOR cap space to resign Hyman.

Yeah Rielly's 19 points in 31 playoff games is garbage. Same with his ice time and plus minus. Totally worth trading him and Marner away.

No chance the cbj trade bjorkstrand. A player who wants to be here and leads our team on the ice. With one of the best contracts in the league. Super valuable and not worth trading.

At this point, given how useless Marner seems in the playoffs that $11M contract for a small market team is just lethal. I think CBJ walks from this exchange.

Also it's very hard to say anything about his statistical capabilities in the regular season without two world class centers. Let's just say that playing with Matthews and Tavares is going to be different than playing with Texier and Roslovic lol.
