Its hard to put a trade value on Patrick, but cant see the flyers wanting Nylander (they're very deep at youngsters and prospect forwards).

And youve put Patrick at 1LW?

I don’t think CHI can reasonably expect a 1st for Strome in any way after this last season unless they still want to hold on to him.

Patrick for Nylander seems perfect given everything and a bit poetic with them both missing a year due to injury not sure why I hadn't thought of that yet

The ~20th pick in this draft especially has about a 10% chance of becoming a player as good as Strome is right now and he could easily get better in time

Why not play him 1LW to try to boost his value

Would be the 2nd time someone sold low on him 🤦‍♂️

No thanks from wild. Wild rather keep their 1st, or use in a package for better C

Dylan strome is slow, & doesn't have much value right now

That Connolly contract is bad. I don't mind Gaudette, but I feel like the pick has to be higher to take 2 years of dead cap at 3.5m.

You want to dump two players, that managed to score 11 points between them last year, on Detroit and only pay a 4th round pick?

This season Detroit got a 2nd to take on Staal, a player that they actually had use for, for one year.

You want Detroit to accept only a 4th for two players, that are of absolutely no use, for two years?

If you had the choice of making one of those trades for your team which one of them would you choose?

A reasonable price for a cap dump like this is a 1st + a 2nd, or a 1st + a good waiver exempt prospect.

Gaudette is definitely not a dump. He is a 25 year old this year who scored 33 points in 59 games last season and 4 points in 7 games since he came to the Hawks.

I think both Nylander and definitely Patick need a change of scenario. This gives them both a new chance in a new city.
Yeah, my bad. Switch place on Kubalik and Nolan.

He scored 11 points in 40 games this season. That's the same scoring rate Detroit's 37 year old dane Frans Nielsen scored at.

He is not a player that Detroit has any use for whatsoever. Players like him can be had by the dozen on waivers every year.

To Detroit this is a blatant cap dump.

You're not wrong about the different scenery, and like I said its hard to put a value on Patrick, BUT....

Patrick scored 31 pts in his 1st 2 years in 3rd line minutes, (far better than Nylander), conquered migraines and came back to play a whole season. I think theres a bit more upside on Patrick and he plays Center, which PHI needs.

PHI is also very deep at wingers and prospects, so have real doubts Nylander would get the ice time/development time.

Its close though

Oilers have exactly zero interest in Malcolm Subban. They'd resign Stalock before giving up an asset for another back-up. The Oilers need either a tandem goalie or someone with starting potential to make the Koskinen buy-out make sense. End of year presser essentially sealed that Oilers will bring Smith back.
