Y'all need to stop overrating Reinhart, you aren't getting the 13th overall and a recent 1st round pick that has done nothing but increase his value for him. 1st and a 2nd would be far more reasonable.

Well Reinhart has proven to be very good in the NHL, well Zary and 12 pick are unproven, it looks like good value on paper, but still unproven.

Love seeing the Weklund appreciation but he's almost certainly there at 4 and the likeliest of the top 10 to drop due to size unfortunately so... 😐

Seems like Det at 6 might love 1st overall

An LHD like Power seems peachy for them

Doesn't mean they don't have value. Teams very rarely trade top prospects. Your 1st overall and Cozens are unproven in the NHL, give them to us for Gaudreau, he's proven he's a very good NHLer. See how stupid that argument is? And that's using a player better than Reinhart.

That's even worse as 2022 is a deeper draft.

Good point on prospects, your right I would not take Gaudreau for 1st and Cozens, but like Taylor Hall is a name player who does not live up to his name I feel the same way about Gaudreau. I believe Reinhart is very good, but maybe you feel differently.

Even very good players are rarely traded for a 1st and a top prospect. Usually it'll be a 1st, conditional pick, or a 2nd and some meh prospects. Reinhart is a good player but he's a low end 1st liner, teams won't sell the farm for him, especially when it's come out publicly he doesn't want to keep losing in Buffalo. Any smart GM would wait and offer an offer sheet for just 1 year or wait for him to become a UFA next summer.

You guys really gotta stop with the 2021 first element of these Eichel trades. Nobody in his right mind is going to make a franchise-changing trade without seeing how well Eichel plays after he’s recovered from his injury. Which means until at least the middle of next season.

Someone will take a chance (If he's even going to be traded, I have my doubts), but one of the pieces everyone is listing as a 1st round pick, will be a conditional pick

Detroit already have 4 top prospects on LD newly signed only weeks ago + two more still unsigned. They don't need to draft a LD, they have a dearth of centres to adress.

Detroit will accept that trade only on draft day and only if the players they want are already gone.

Plus, if youre like me, and you think the 21 draft class is underwhelming at best, you probably dont want all of your core players converted to futures in a weak draft class.

I like the kings and flames deals, im good with seattle taking thompson in expansion, i have no interest in the blackhawks trade, and i dont think we have to move up to get the goalie- id roll the dice on him being there with the kings pick or take bpa if hes gone. The signings look good, especially if we can get those 2 goalies at that price. Krejci isnt coming here, i dont think it matters how much you throw at him. I know mccabe is your boy, i am 100% fine with giving him a 1 year at that price, i wouldnt give him 4, and with his injury, thats the right move for all parties.

This deal is fine for both teams...? Calgary gets to keep 13th overall and gets to gamble on itself doing better next season while Buffalo gets Zary and a future 1st. Reinhart ain't no scrub and would be a big help for Calgary

He's not worth a first round pick and a player picked in the first round in 2020. He's a low end first liner, I'd be shocked if you even got a first and a second, especially since he's made it clear he wants out and is a year away from free agency.

I get for the joke that is the Sabres a low end 1st liner is basically god-tier, but to the rest of the league, it's not.

Let's not pretend Calgary has some high end 1st liner. Tkachuk is about an average 1st liner and Gaudreau is also about average despite the strange worship he receives up there. He would also be right behind Tkachuk for 4th in scoring on the Flames so yeah he would be a good addition for a contender and a great addition for a relatively poor team

I can't wait to see which one of us is right on this one. I'll bet two units on no trade before the halfway point and one unit on no deal until the day before the trade deadline.

If we weren't choosing to rebuild, the value is close but I think because of the rebuild we keep our assets, otherwise I would look at this deal.
