Why would ottawa give Pinto, Brown and a 2nd for Manson that's just big overpay for him. Philly doesn't need Silfverberg and you are not getting that big return for him.

If that's the price for Lindholm then MTL can top it

Manson is not the Dman he used to be, and he would be a pure rental for Ottawa. Horrendous deal for them. Pinto alone would be a massive overpayment. I'd give you LB and a 3rd tops. Manson really doesn't make sense for Ottawa if Anaheim thinks there's a significant value market for him.

This is very risky especially with teams like Buffalo, Columbus, Arizona, and potentially San Jose tanking for Wright. I wouldn't go all in like this and tear it up.

Yeah...it's definitely not. The fact that Manson is getting a better return than Hampus is a surefire way to know that this is wayyyy off.

Teams aren't giving up so much for fading players especially when they aren't trading back equal cap.

The idea of tanking for Wright seems kinda foolish, and I agree with your point. We're likely going to be a bottom 5-6 team regardless. If we get some luck, great...if not, then so be it.

As a Ducks fan, I don't *hate* the idea of selling off some of our pending UFA's (Rakell/Manson) for picks/prospects, but unless there's a haul coming for Hampus, I think they'd be wise to extend him.

I'm of the opinion that unless the Ducks are getting solid value back, they should just keep Manson. Moving him puts an even bigger strain on Drysdale than he had in year one, which was already him being thrown to the wolves. I don't *hate* LB+3rd, but I'd have to think long and hard about it.

Manson is still good and Ottawa could use an experienced RD that actually will go there. I think Manson is a picture perfect d partner for Chabot

Philly has a good prospect pool and expect a bounce back year next year and now they have a potential 55+ points scorer

Haha, well how was anyone supposed to know that Manson was signing an extension? Also, *why* would he sign an extension in Ottawa, unless he was being overpaid, which seems extremely unlikely given his past couple of seasons?

Man, I'm a Ducks fan. I know what Manson is. He's not worth a high 2nd, one of the top college prospects from last year, and another *ok* prospect. The asking price for him at the deadline was a 1st+prospect. Nobody budged.

    Pinto+Brown+high 2nd>>>Late 1st+Ok prospect

I just came up with that narrative haha. Manson still is pretty good, he’s 29 now but Ottawa could use a guy like him, maybe it is a bit of an overpay but Ottawa’s got so many forwards I was taking a couple and replacing with a pretty decent d man.

    Hahaha.

Listen, I'm definitely on the "My wife doesn't love me as much as I love Josh Manson" train. I love him. But I also know that his value is as low as it's been. I honestly think the best possible return for him is if he's healthy, and they hold off until closer to the trade deadline next year and some swindle a Savard-type trade to someone that's desperate. Aside from that, I can't see anyone going crazy at this point.

I wouldn’t do Pinto straight for Manson, probably wouldn’t do the 2nd straight up either but I don’t mind the Brown and a 3rd idea if Anaheim is interested

Philly has good wings already so we don't need any improvements on those positions.
