Also, I'm not sure why LA "has to deal" with Quick. They don't need the cap space. He's perfectly fine as a backup goaltender (he had more wins than Petersen this season, despite 10 fewer starts). They don't have any NHL ready goaltenders in the pipeline either and Petersen is set to be a UFA next summer. While he'll likely extend, there's no guarantee that he doesn't test free agency. Quick isn't going anywhere until Petersen extends.
I suspect Quick stays in LA until his contract expires and serves as a capable backup to Petersen.
