1 year of good play with a big extension coming up doesn't get you most of these things

If he is planning on signing in the KHL you aren't getting this kind of return. You're definitely not getting Pettersson even if he came with an extension

That’s going to be a very hard trade to win from a wild perspective. A lot of these targets are probably too lofty with so much uncertainty built in. From a canes perspective I would do necas 1 for 1 knowing kaprizov was going to sign but that’s a big if.

Montreal would pass as well IMO, Suzuki will have a bigger impact and role than Kaprizov would.

It's really hard to gauge his trade value at this point. Most of these are either an easy no from the other team or from the Wild.

If he really is looking to get out, I would go to a team like LA who's looking to improve their roster, and has center depth to spare. Turcotte or Vilardi, add in a top 10 or lottery protected 2022 1st, and maybe Iafallo for cap purposes, and that's looking pretty strong.

I said it in that other thread, but if we're moving Kaprizov sooner rather than later, there's not a whole lot of sense to be getting a guy like Hertl, Marner, Zibanejad, guys who are either on UFA contracts or will need one soon. Target a futures package, start building around the 19-22 year olds. Fiala and Ek can be the elder statesmen of that group.

If he's not just using the KHL as leverage, then I can't imagine these teams would be willing to trade pieces like this for him.

I thought that at first too, but the longer I think about it, the less appealing it is.

If he's planning on staying in the KHL, I'm not sure why anyone would give up anything for him. Maybe a project prospect that needs a change of scenery or a mid-round pick in the hopes that they can convince him to stick around.

I'm not worried about Guerin signing him this year, but I am worried about him potentially walking in free agency (if he's a UFA) when his deal is done. We need to get him a center asap.

I’m not worried about him going to the Khul, but rather wanting a deal to walk straight to ufa status. What would the value be for 3 years of kaprizov? Is a more poignant question inky opinion
