IF the Blues were interested in M Tkachuk Read description

Description
Since Army is keen on keeping both Kyrou and Thomas, I dont see a move happening for M. Tkachuk. Below is what I think the Blues ARE willing to give up, but don't see Calgary accepting. This is based on the premise the Blues might be inquiring. Tkachuk has not stated he wants out nor is there any significant rumor that the Blues are trying to get him.

It would take Thomas AND Kyrou for the Flames to even consider moving Tkachuk lol, this package is dismissed without a thought

It wouldn't take both, that's just completely unrealistic. However, like I said, this isn't a real offer, but one I think Army would be willing to give up so I don't see a real trade here.

It's pretty obvious Blues aren't gonna get a 1st for Dunn, they simply don't have the leverage

Not true. Just because the Blues have Krug and Faulk under contract doesn't mean they have to protect em both. I don't see Seattle taking Krug if left exposed and they can protect Dunn. If Krug does get taken for any reason? Oh well, it just opens up 6.5 in cap space.

Dunn is a very good fit in Detroit. I'll happily accept that deal.

Thomas could be moved, add in Dunn and Vlady and I think it is close. I would not add Kyrou though

Vladdy would honestly have to be in the deal. Dunn, Vladdy and a 1st gets it done, Calgary might even have less leverage than that. Not doing the cap math in my head but I'd imagine that leaves a decent amount of cap room to make decent additions as well

Blues shouldn't move Thomas or Kyrou. Might to have to add Vladdy to this package cap wise though mine checks out with him. Worth noting, Calgary has plenty of LD.

They have Hanifin after that it is a question mark. Giordano is likely going to Seattle imo. Even if he doesn't next year will be his last in Calgary. Thomas is buried on the 3rd line right now so he might be seen as expendable.

They also have Valimaki and Kylington coming in.

So the difference in value between M Tkachuk & Dunn is a recent late first round winger prospect & a no body goalie prospect?

If you read the description, that's what I'm saying the Blues are likely willing to offer. But Hofer is not a no body goalie prospect by any definition. He doesn't have the clout of Knight or Wallstadt but he is a very solid young goalie.

I read the description, which is why I commented on the value difference. Goalie prospects unless highly touted carry little to no value. Most teams have a Hofer in the pipeline so yeah he really is a nobody until he does something otherwise.

Hofer gained a lot of clout after his WJC-U20 performance (.946 save percentage). He was arguably the MVP for that tournament.
Having said that, if the Blues decide to make something work with Dunn + Neighbors +16th overall, I'm all for it.

This offer is much better. Like I said goalies don’t have a ton of value unless their established in the NHL or blue chip quality (Askarov, Knight, Wallstedt). A 6 game sample size in a tourney with Canada doesn’t exactly launch his value especially with a subpar CHL & AHL resume to date.

WHL wasn't subpar but his AHL certainly was. That could be because of age, but I understand the concern there.

Okay his WHL performance is average. Even on the Winterhawks guys like Giannuzzi posted good results while guys like Wolf go in the 7th because size yet vastly better numbers.
