Hyman is getting at least 4.5M x 4 and at that price he would stay in Toronto (his home town). Have to offer more to pull him away.

Who's paying Goodrow and Hyman the other 50% of their contracts?

I think people are saying at least 5.5- I think leafs would have done 4.5 at 4 really quick.

WSH and Tor probably accept.

NYR and Pit probably try to talk you down a bit.

Lol don't think he signs a 2.5M discount with no term for that. Toronto has a decent shot, so do the Caps and Edmonton who could both use his services and have money to pay.

Pens most likely decline.

A) They don't have capacity to just take on a $5M salary at the moment, so you'd have to take something back like Jarry or Zucker.

B) Hextall has been very vocal about the fact he's done emptying the cupboard, so those higher picks are likely out of the question.

Yeah, he's not taking a penny less than $5M unless he gets term.

They need cap space and Logan Thompson needs to play NHL games. Thompson's style is closer to Fleury's so he can mentor him. Trading Lehner helps with both.

Vegas and Lehner had a deal. Good luck getting any UFA to come to Vegas once you stab Lehner in the back. He took a discount so he could settle into to a team.

Yeah and I think the leafs would do 5 and maybe they should do the term as well. And everyone loves him on and off the ice. But some reports are suggesting 6.5. And that seems wild to me.

Yeah, there's no way he gets $6.5M; that's just loony. If there was no flat cap I could see teams overpaying and offering him closer to or at $6M, but that's not the financial reality of the NHL right now lol. I think if a team is willing to offer him five or six year he'd take a little less than $5M.

That would go against everything that has been reported or hinted at by insiders.

A little bit. Not a lot. Take out the picks, add some salary going back, and both get accepted pretty quick.

Yep. And I think the Rangers might not give a high 3rd for Holden, but they'd give Kreider and Georgiev for Holden and Jarry.

Would the Pens care if they get Fleury instead of Lehner?

I mean, I don't care, but I think they might have a problem that whole deal lol
