I don't like paying a 1st + prospect for a rental D who'll be playing on the 3rd pair. I like trading Drouin for Manson, I suggested Drouin + 2nd for him on my ACGM posts.

The 1st is basically a 2nd. 30 or 31st overall

And Struble is a great prospect
Not bluechip, but people on here thinks Manson is way too good than he actually is
Drouin vs Manson straight up or Drouin vs Ristolainen are more realistic

I don’t think Struble is needed with Norlinder, Harris, Guhle and more in your LD pool

It's not the fact that we need Struble or not, not because he might be our 4th D in the pool prospect that we'll just likely give him, this trade is an overpay

You never know which one will become better
Norlinder always played on is offside
Guhle and Romanov can do it as well
Harris might leave for BOS
I wouldn’t trade him before we know what we have in Norlinder and if Harris stays

It'd definitely be a tough team to face and addresses a couple of the biggest needs on the team. I'd love to see a big gun like Landeskog on the left wing, but realistically I doubt he leaves Colorado and signing him to a big contract like that would make it pretty hard to sign Suzuki and Caulfield as their contracts come up. Cheaper options like Schwartz or Janmark seem more likely or possibly trading for someone a team is going to lose to Seattle like Duclair.

I like Manson on D, but I think resigning him is just going to be too expensive as long as Weber and Petry are around. What about going for someone like Fabbro; he's young enough to be cheap and Nashville will likely lose him in the expansion draft if they don't move him. Fabbro doesn't have the size that the Habs like on their blueline, but does have the puck-moving skills they need for the powerplay.
