Jensen is not even close to the value of a 2nd. His contract doesn’t work with Dallas, it’ll be a pass.

I just don't teams are interested at all in Kutz's 7.8m X 4 contract.

I think he gets moved and Vegas is a likely team. Really depends whether they think Glass is legit. Not sure the cap works for Vegas either. Could see him going to Minny as well if they don't get Eichel.

Kutzy is nothing more than a cap dump at this point.
7.8 per and it's been YEARS since he showed good form.

I agree he has been a disappointment the last 1.5 / 2 years. And yes I am a Caps fan (so may be a little bias). That being said, he is still a #2 center (at the worst). This year, after getting COVID twice, he still had 29 points over 41 games. Last year, almost a point a game through 63 games. I think a change of scenario would do great things for Kuzy. Before that, he was dominant. I think he gets so much hate on this website (some of it deserving), but he is still a #2 center.

Any transaction Las Vegas makes has to be cap-positive for them. This one adds $3.75 million to the Golden Knights' roster instead of subtracting from it.

That's entirely aside from the fact that at two-thirds the cost, Smith is more valuable than Kuznetsov and Glass is far more valuable than van Riemsdyk, without even considering the values of Coghlan and the second.

I love how this is the narrative when you guys clearly haven’t even looked at his stats the last 3 seasons.

Yea..... a 2C being paid like a performing, good leader 1C.
Easy pass unless Caps are eating a few mil each season.
Dont need a 7.8 2C who may or may not even be available on a nightly basis.
That playoff series vs Pitt is just too long ago. But it's his shining moment.
Washington be best served trying to fix him and then selling.

He has to be on the ice to notice him.

7.8 mil for a 2C with his recent history.... no thanks.
He would be cap casualty in any other sport.
He is not worth his cap hit.... hes 29 turning 30.
Bright lights behind him now..... craps should try and fix him.

I actually am probably one of few fans that hope the Caps keep Kuzy. I think he has a solid year this upcoming year (after being put on notice that he needs to step up or leave). I look at center options this offseason and don't really see many better than Kuzy.

To say he would be a cap causality in any other sport is a pretty odd statement. Yes he has off-ice issues, but he had performed great from 2015-2018 and well enough over the last two seasons to give him some leeway (that is running out). Look at other athletes in sports (NBA and NFL especially). There are way bigger "troublemakers" that played long careers compared to Kuzy. A drug infraction that was dismissed by the NHL (as seen by only a 3 game suspension) and getting COVID twice during a national pandemic...not that big of a deal compared to other sports.

And just for your knowledge - he will be owed only $3 million for the 21-22 season (after his signing bonus is paid in July, which is $5mil). Once that is paid, he will only be owed $24 million of his $62.4 million contract over the remaining four seasons ($6 million per season)
