Caps decline. We don’t have the cap space to lose two top 6 forwards and a goalie and only get one forward in return. We wouldn’t be able to fix our center depth.

Plus I’d honestly rather have Wilson over Marner when it comes to cap hit weighed against point production, versatility, etc.

Fair enough. Tom Wilson has a lot of value. I don't see the Caps trading him unless the offer is really high. The Leafs have the assets to do it though. Marner + is not an unreasonable offer.

Philly easily declines that. There is nothing in that trade that fits Philly's needs. Also Farabee ia untouchable.

Capitals, Flyers and Flames all decline.

Senators counter offer with their 2022 5th. AND THAT'S ALL. They maybe agree to make it their 4th rounder, but nothing more. They aren't a playoff team this coming season so there's no reason to give up more than that on a middle 6 rental.

They would be fools to decline but you're right.

The tough part is that Marner is a much better offensive player, but he makes so much money. While the caps could use a superstar caliber player like him, it just wouldn’t fit in our cap structure and we would have to give up too much for him.

Every team declines except for Anaheim. Philly might be interested but at the same time I don’t think they accept that.
