Agree. Too much. But what if the trade keeps Kaprizov around at 5x7. Same length as Eichel???

They're late 1sts, Rask is a dump the Sabres don't want. Dumba is ok. Addison would be the one I'd want to keep. Keep Greenway, the 3rd and 4th and the Sabres send back Bjork.

The Parise contract is a killer....

The 3rd and 4th cover Rask's dump.

The Wild's depth is gone and so is a big part of their future. The team isn't any better than it was last year, by upgrading Rask to Eichel, but opening up several holes in the roster and nobody is left to fill them. The cap isn't there to get much more than roster fillers. not quality players.

If, and with Eichel's neck it's a big if, Eichel is healthy watch what Kaprizov does with a center that can keep up with him. The 1st line could score 120+ goals in 82 games. Add JEE, Fiala and Boldy, who I like better than Rossi, and you have 3 really good lines. I'd want to keep Addison, but for the Sabres to take on 14 mil and retain on Eichel, he may be the price to pay.

Sabres trade back Jokijarju and Bjork along with Eichel. Minnesota still has space, several young prospects and all their picks next year.

The contract that really hurts is Parise...

Welcome to CapFriendly! Always nice to see a young person getting involved!

My feeling is that Greenway, Dumba, Kahkonen and the two firsts is an offer Buffalo would accept. (Linus Ullmark is going to sign elsewhere if he's smart and UPL isn't ready yet.) If you're going to include Rask, the third and the fourth are proper compensation.

I think Kaprizov is angling for a 5-year contract but you should give Fiala more term.

As for kaprizov, he wants 3 years extension but wild won't do this

Apparently gm bill Guerin has no interest in signing Kevin fiala to more than 3-4 years deal

Also no chance Kaapo kahkonen, or Calen addison are going to be moved in any trade..

Bill loves dumba much like Calen addison. He's made it clear he has no interest in ruining wild prospects, or put himself along with wild in bad place for the future.

So with all due respect, apparently wild gm isn't even willing to give up matt boldy, & marco Ross together in eichel trade according to Michael Russo; wild beat writer

So he's definitely not doing this

That's weird about FIala, because a three-year contract carries him straight to free agency.

I think Kahkonen would be the easiest of Boldy, Rossi and KK to replace.

This is all just spit-balling because I'm philosophically opposed to virtually any Eichel trade prior to the halfway point in the season.

I don't read anything into what GMs say. They'll say things aren't on the table for trades until the trade happens. It's bad business to hang players out like that if things fall though. Look at Brodin/RyJo years ago, or Zucker/CGY at the TDL a couple years ago. They love their guys until they find someone better, or new contracts are needed.

As for Russo he's gone downhill since he got hired by the athletic. He's shilling more and putting out random clickbait things (especially in his podcasts). He also has his favorites when it comes to the GMs (just in MN): Fletcher was open and honest (Russo loved him). Fenton didn't say anything about anything (Russo hated everything about him). Guerin uses GM speak/lies, but after Fenton it's like having an open book (Russo swoons over him). If he writes an article it's still based on fact, but everything else is a lot of speculation on his part lately.

Considering that Björk was targeted in return for Taylor Hall and Jokiharju is generally thought of as Dahlin‘s long-term defense partner neither guy is going anywhere.
