I don't mind the Keith trade here but wonder about throwing a pick for a 3rd team to take $1mil per year as well. Keith as a $3mil dman makes sense for us.

I think the price for Palat will be lower than a 2nd if you're taking Johnson. TJ has negative value, if you're getting them out of jail on that contract you won't pay a ton for Palat since he's likely gone anyways too.

driedger, allen, ullmark, andersen, talbot, holtby etc. etc. etc.

Perhaps because an extra second round pick is very nice to have for an expansion franchise, and worth it for a one year overpay on a backup? Signing those other goalies you don't get a pick so...seems like a good incentive?

That’s the dream I think. If you can get another team to eat 1M, Chi eats 1.5, all of a sudden he’s a lot more enticing. I guess we will see.

signing all those guys gets you competent goaltending, there will be way better options out there if they want to swing a deal for a pick than taking on koskinen and getting a pick in the bottom half of round two in a lottery ticket draft. i see what youre saying but from listening to friedman, johnson and those guys it sounds like seattle is trying to bend teams over a barrel to take on bad deals.
