OEL big brain Read description

Created by: Skull_King
Team: 2021-22 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 7, 2021
Published: Jul. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
All post expansion. Have Coyotes retain 25%, then add a 3rd team retain 50%. Idk what goes to the 3rd team. Maybe a 3rd or a 4th. OEL's cap hit ends up being just over 3 mil. Miller ends up being an if. To me it could go either way. But if he does re sign, it'll be for less than a mil. I hope Steen makes the roster next yea r, but if not, put in kuhlman

To get jersey to eat 3 million for 6 years would be multiple first round picks in my opinion

If you want Connor Garland AND you want two teams to retain 2+ mil for SIX years, you better be willing to say goodbye to an honest to God generation of 1st round picks. If you think a 2nd and a 3rd gets a single part of this deal done, you have no idea of the value of any part of what Boston is getting.

You want 5M retention for 6 years and all you're willing to give up is a 2nd and a 3rd?

Thats not even enough value for the absurd retention, let alone OEL or Garland

Probably multiple. 3 mil for six years is an insane ask. No NHL team is in a position to even consider something like that. It's a huge long term strain on the Cap, and it's an even more significant strain on the Owner's resources. The number of teams that have an Owner who can afford something like that, And who are actually in a position where that kind of long term dead cap is actually viable is probably zero.

This is the 2nd time I've seen Garland attached to OEL in the past 10 minutes, and I have absolutely no clue why. Everyone wants Garland, but don't want to pay for him tears of joy

agreed I think ARI would just reatain a bit of the contract and boston just deals with it and gets garland as a insentive to take on OEL.

taking on OEL is payment for taking him.

That's the thing though-Everyone is like "Ahhhh, OEL sucks!!!", then they make multiple teams retain on him, take Garland, and fire them both into top 6/top 4 roles, while sending sweet f**k all back to Arizona.

Take out Garland Zona might accept. Good luck finding another team to retain that much for that long for nothing.

This is pure wishful thinking fantasy.

If they're retaining salary, they're getting value for OEL, and Garland isn't being moved in a cap dump.

its an 8 million dollar cap hit even if they retain 2 mil they are giving a team a 6x6 contract for a low tier top 4 d man. Garland would need to be added as a sweetner.
