I’d rather keep Bert if this is the offer.

The arrogance of Leafs fans. Why in the world would the Panthers make that trade? We wouldn’t make a 1 for 1 trade let alone throw in a 1st rounder. Wait, did you maybe forget to add that you were taking on Bob’s contract. Then this trade might make sense.

That's not enough for Bertuzzi.
1. Dubus's 1st born is not in that package
2. The Red Wings are about to compete so they need Bertuzzi
3. All leaf assets are at 50% value (divisional rival) even though there is 0 competition from Detroit in that division

Toronto fans, Liljegren is a very good prospect, BUT, we have 4 players for that position and 2 are better than him right now. So unless it is a LHD, not named Reily it is a no.

I get your still smitten with the Bennet (usual over achieve for a handful of games) Sam Bennet. Aside from Panthers not needing another LHD the value is quite fair if the Panthers were indeed interested in Rielly

Or simply this doesn’t fill any Detroit need and we aren’t your feeder team.

I dont think so, hes getting good term here. I think 3.5 for even 2 or 3 years is good for him

Sorry, do Panthers fans think Sam Bennet is that valuable?

All of bertuzzi trades response is "were rebuilding were not in the part to get players to compete" your the first one to say they are about to compete. Swear half of wings fans want to be in a rebuild for the next 5 years.

If wings fans seriously think they're "competing" next year, you are sadly mistaken. Good luck doing it with Larkin and... and... ummm, yeah... LARKIN!
Bertuzzi is exactly going to get you this offer, because seriously... the price tag you guys think is on Bertuzzi is not that. Would you (wings fans) like to acquire a player who is currently coming off of a back injury, and may quite never be the same again? Toronto can afford to lose a couple of prospects, because itll be 3-5 years before they even get a chance to get to the big leagues.

Detroit does not have to trade Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi have not asked for a trade.

Detroit have not put Bertuzzi on the block.

This is you trying to trade for a player Detroit doesn't want to lose.

Mantha got a 1st and Vrana when everyone on this site said a comparable was Domi and a 2nd. Right now Bertuzzi is a part of our future and we don't want to move him, so to get him it's an overpay. Seeing as he is an RFA and has team control he would be cheaper than what Hyman would command on the open market with a couple more years of team control. You're correct in saying the back injury is a risk to take but if Bert can put up close to 50 on Larkin's wing imagine what he could do playing with Matthews or Tavares when healthy. Change Liljegren to a LD prospect and it's probably fair. Don't know much about Der-Arguchintsev but a conditional second that could turn into a first if leafs make the conference finals (or something along those lines) would be nice.

also I don't think any of us realistically think the wings are close to competing yet, we're at least a competent starting goalie away from that
