Was this a good signing?

Mrazek played 12 games last season and had disastreous playoffs, so I don't know what you mean by "at this point".

I'm not sure if you noticed Andersen was below 900 save percentage lol.

Yes, and it tells more about the team in front of him than his talent IMO.

Oh? They were the 7th best team in the league defensively last season (and I don't want to hear how bad the North division is because it doesn't really matter in this case). In years past sure but not this year.

I follow the Canes and Canes fans on here pretty much HATE me because I've been saying for years that Mrazek is overrated. I'm not joking when I say 50% of Mrazek's games...he faces less than 25 shots. He's about to get pepper'd more than anything in his DET days. MAYBE getting in a rhythm will help?! Ok, I won't be ignorant to that pov. BUT to sign for $3.8M is a big risk. As of now TOR has two 1b goalies and should look for a playoff goalie at the TDL....if they make the playoffs in they brutal division.

You guys are hilarious because Andersen is better than Mrazek by far and Leafs fans are going to loose their **** (again) next playoffs.

I Just want to take a second and give you some credit here applaud Freddie has a .941 SV%.

I know, I know, he's been great with the canes but Campbell's no slouch either.

Enjoy it while it last since he TML won't be able to pay his salary raise and they will be stuck with Mrazek next year...

Hey, thanks!

I predicted he would win the Vezina somewhere else. I stick by it!

I'm sure they can dump him. I can't see him costing anything to dump, he's good when healthy (very key word: healthy). As long as he doesn't cost much to dump and they can sign Campbell it's fine.

I could see someone like Pittsburg or Arizona acquiring him.

Can you explain why Pittsburgh with Jarry (.927% & 2.17 GAA) or Arizona (Full Rebuild) would be interest in an Injury Prone goalie making 3.8m?

Desmith sucks.

Arizona needs someone to actually play the position.

You aren't going to pay an injury prone goalie 3.8 Million to be injured when you need him and sit on the bench when you don't. Arizona doesn't need a 31 YO goalie when they aren't going to be competitive for 3-4 years. Unless the Leafs dump him (like they will have to if they want to trade him), Arizona has no interest.

Well, even if it's something like a 3rd round pick I'd be fine with that.

Maybe there's a team out there, but I don't see Pittsburgh taking on that Salary for a backup nor Arizona paying picks for a veteran. Maybe Chicago next year if they want to compete?

Perhaps Buffalo as well, since they actually need more cap and a goalie wouldn't hurt (though their goaltending hasn't been half bad).

Honestly if he could just stay healthy this would be fine for now

Thats the one thing hurting him

As if he was healthy Campbell would be allowed more rest and more rest could mean better performances as it seems rn he is being a tad overworked
