Whats Ryan Johansen Worth

Created by: ricochetii
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 31, 2021
Published: Jul. 31, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming Nashville is looking to move Ryjo and would ne interested in taking Weber back so they have more control over his situation.
Nashville can afford to give Weber the time and space he needs to have a chance at recovery, away from Montreal media and his leadership role.
Montreal gets a change-of-scenery center candidate.
Nashville saves actual dollars in addition to cap space.

Retention on Johansen would be necessary, either from Nashville, or via a 3rd party.

Trades
MTL
  1. Johansen, Ryan ($2,000,000 retained)
NSH
  1. Lehkonen, Artturi [RFA Rights]
  2. Weber, Shea
Additional Details:
Weber would be on LTIR and if capable of returning could net assets in a trade. There could be future considerations arranged to allow Weber to return to Montreal in that scenario.

Lehkonen (or Byron) would have to be moved to accommodate salary, and Lehkonen should be a good fit with the Preds.

I would think Drouin would be involved, two higher cap hits with injuries or sub par results recently. But real cap from Drouin to offset, rather than Weber's LTIR.

Would be interesting to see RyJo moved, might rebound in Montreal or he might flop.

Nashville are in no rush to “dump” johansen’s salary. We’re not hurting with the cap so unless teams give up value for a retained johansen which I don’t see, he’ll try and bounce back with Nashville.

It's an option, but not sure Drouin fits in Nashville. I guess if they are looking to make changes.

Not a lot. He was unclaimed in the Expansion Draft and has a massive contract with no certainty he can bounce back.

Probably a one for one with Drouin would make sens for both teams with Nashville retaining a bit of salary

I'm asking because Nashville can spare an RD prospect and we can spare a LD, so something might make sense for both teams. Sticking Out Tongue

I didn't say Duchene? He didn't want to come here before iirc, so I'm not even looking at him.

My bad this is a RJ post, but still those 2 doesn’t make senses
Kotkaniemi might be not ready for the 2C spot, but it’s time to give it too him. He was a 3rd OA ffs, now he’ll have good wingers (I ****ing love Lehky, but he isn’t an offensive player). 2C all year long, can’t see him not putting at least 40 points
Might not score 15 goals 40 assists, but we need to believe in him

I agree that we need to give KK more opportunity and let him sink or swim. I'm not sure this is the year for it. I'm pretty sure management isn't ready to give him the reigns.
This could also be used as a plan B mid-season after giving KK a fair shot though.
