If Detroit had any interest in Brooks why would they pay assets for him? He'll be available on waivers in about a months time, you have 19 waiver eligible forwards.

I don’t expect that they be given away for nothing, but i do expect the team acquiring said elite talent would have to give up equal value. Arizona clearly would lose that trade. They get Matthews, 2 trash players that could just be claimed off waivers, and a player nobody knows. And they are giving up pretty much every good piece that they have. While Matthews is worth a lot, he is NOT worth all that.

Oh believe me I don’t like it either, who would like a team spending $40M on four guys that choke all the time? However, doing this idea is even worse. Almost every leafs acgm i see that has “blow it up” as the title is a couple of bad trades that make no sense. Also, blowing it up isn’t the right thing to do with this team, trading marner is as far as I’d go, but I wouldn’t even do that. They’re 24 (Matthews marner and nylander). I’d rather have some of a shot at winning something than no shot, which is what you’d get blowing it up.

I'm not saying they should blow it up. Just wanted to see what it might look like. Though Marner does need to go for the sake of the rest of the roster.
