Believe it or not, some Blues fans were saying it was bad trade for us so that's why I thought I would include this trade in here. I mean Steel doesn't look like he will be anything great but just that potential factor is why I'd accept.
I read ducks fans post that Larsson is bad bad, but the dude is only 24 so i would think he can improve, right?

Would not do the Eichel trade. I value Kyrou at 2 1st round picks so the way I see it is 5 first round picks plus Sanford (equivalent to a 3rd round pick) and another 3rd.

Love Eichel and would love to see him on the Blues but I would only consider Thomas and prospects plus one 1st for him.

I should've taken off the third but i had to have sanford to keep us cap compliant. Plus I just don't like the guy. (although sometimes when i complain about him during a game he will snag a goal which i found funny haha)

But regardless of this hypothetical, I feel like we would have the assets and could get Eichel rather easily. The first round losses would suck but would likely be late cause this team would go far in playoffs. I hope Army checks in at some point.

Even if the Ducks gave up on both of them, how does trading them both for a 31 year old 3rd pairing LHD when we have Lindholm, Fowler, Mahura, Guhle, Curran who can all play in the NHL next year help?

If the Ducks traded either of them it would be in similar deals to the Ritchie-Heinen deal, two young guys that could use a scenery change. Ducks are rebuilding, they would essentially give them away for nothing if Scandella was what comes back. We arent contending and wont be for the duration of the Scandella contract, all he would do is block our young guys that need ice time. There is no scenario where the Ducks win that trade, instant loss now and in the future for Anaheim.

Larsson 100% needs a change of scenery, Steel can still develop but more than likely is a 3C and even then the Ducks lose this trade. Both are far from lost causes at this point

Well it certainly does not help steel in the fact that he plays on the lowest scoring team (could be wrong but I think Ducks were last year) and he just doesn't get opportunities (from looking at their lineups last year and this upcoming year) . The ducks are a weird team tho IMO, when i watched a few games last year, it just looked like they had no identity, but at least they should have a bright future. Then again I'm no hockey genius by any means lmao.

Ducks definitely need to find their identity, and offense is a issue, our future top 9 should be very good though, I'd argue only the Kings have a better prospect pool currently
Comtois-Zegras-Terry
Pastujov-McTavish-Perreault
Steel-Lundestrom-Jones

Hopefully most reach their "potential" obviously not everyone does but the Ducks are in good shape either way imo, trading off guys like Rakell, Manson, Shattenkirk and whoever else has positive value will help that as well

Although I think cozens and Kyrou would be a great duo I don’t think the blues should make this trade.

I think Steel still has another level that he can get to, but even if he doesn't, plugging him in as 3C seems like a reasonable option-Not a bad faceoff guy, and his possession numbers are fine considering how the team has fared. I'd really like to wait until we inevitably replace Eakins to see what he can do with a coach who actually has some sort of gameplan.

100% Steel should not even be in consideration to be "given up on" until he plays under an actual good coach

Decline. This would need to be 50% retention to consider it.

Oh now I get it. I read that and was confused. Also I hate to break it to you but this offense isn't top 5 in the league.

1) happyhappy what he said, if more retention needed, have a third party in the trade to eat some of cap for a pick or player.
2) Also, getting Tarasenko at 50% retained would not be a consideration rather you should accept on the spot. In fact, if you were to get Tarasenko for only 3.75, the islanders would have to give up more assets as opposed to get him for near the full cap hit.
