Always fun to see people use this site in a creative and interesting way: not sure why it doesn't happen more often ultimately

So if I’m not mistaken, the Oilers get smith and Georgiev retained for a 1st and a 2nd round pick. I do feel like it’s fair value, and last year they would’ve jumped at something like this, however I don’t think improving the forward group now will improve the team much. The Oilers playoff success will depend on how leaky the defence is because it’s not possible to outscore your mistakes in the playoffs. I think they’d be better off going for a defenceman.

I don’t understand this part of the trade, Rangers get Dvorak for a 1st, 2nd and Georgiev with 1 million retained. To me this feels like a reach.

Johnsson is probably the wrong player here. You'd have to move more salary to accommodate him and still get to a full roster. Even without him you're only running 22.

BUF isn’t retaining on Eichel, I don’t know why this is such a hard concept. If you were the owner of the Sabres and you were being forced to trade possibly the best player in franchise history would you want to pay him for another 5 years to play on another team. F no.
