For a biosteel camp, but MTL does make sense as a potential landing spot. But with drouin coming back and wanting to play C I’m not sure they’ll go after him.

I didn't read it as "Wanting to play C", I read it as "Willing to play C". Could be wrong though.

Agreed with Biosteel camp though...surprised that he's playing if the neck injury is that bad though...

That could make sense. Id be willing to remove Miller (as we already have Norlinder who seems ready) and add a solid prospect. Also, lets say they retain half of Drouin's salary (two years left), Im almost certain a team like EDM would be willing to give a first for him (lets say Drouin at 2,75 + a 3rd for a first).

So thats basically 3 first, 1 second, 1 third, Poehling (or any other solid prospects like Kapanen, Ylonen or Mysak) and Brook (who Id be willing to replace with a better prospect in Struble). Solid offer imo. Would suck for Byron tho.

I mean after rehab he can skate, but he’s no where near 100%.

Also yeah likely moreso “willing to play C”

Yeah, almost like people on this site tried to make it sound a lot worse than it actually is.

Sabres decline, nothing of interest with a pile of picks to pad the value

I dont think anyones giving up a 1st for drouin even 50% retained. I dont think its even close to a 1st. Potentially a 2nd for him @2×2.75

The media took off and ran with it too. Nobody wants to admit that, everybody is, well, an armchair gm that wants to poach a top 10 talent for pennies on the dollar. Fortunately our gm that fell for the old wallet inspector is out in seattle now. As a curious aside, i wonder what happens to the gm that eventually "wins" him. The way the winds are blowing, he better win pdq.
