I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just thinking this is either a joke, or this is the worst ACGM I've ever seen.

Nylander is not even close to Eichel.

It really makes zero sense without even talking about values. Or being way over the cap.

I can see Nylander being the center piece and he does have a lot of value and his cap is nearly Jacks.
So the Leaf's could add a player to close the cap gap, let's say Dermott.
Then two other good pieces, 2022 first round pick and a prospect with a decent ceiling.
The obvious choices would be Robertson, but the Leaf fans seem to be set not to move him and Sandin, but I think Buffalo fans would prefer to NOT add another LHD prospect.
IMO that leaves the Leaf's 2023 first which I do not think either team would want, or another prospect.
I think the choice would be among Amirov, Abramov and Niemelä.
What do all of you think?

Values aside for a second, Nylander being a center piece doesn't make much sense for Buffalo. They are trading one of the top centers in the league and don't really have much behind him. They are going to be a terrible team for the next 2-3 seasons. Nylander only has 3 years left on his contract until he turns UFA. Acquiring him now doesn't do anything to help Buffalo when they will be competitive again and they are giving up one of the more valuable assets league wide to do it.

Thank you for your rational response.
You are correct, getting Nylander makes no sense for the Sabres.
I like to generate conversations.
TBH if Buffalo did trade Jack to the Leaf's it would have to be an over pay, as the Sabres would be facing the Leaf's 4 to 5 times per year.
Most likely Nylander, Robertson, Sandin and 2022 first. I was looking for comments as to the value of the trade, not the merits nor likely hood.

Oh for sure, if Eichel was going to Toronto (he's not) it would be either for Marner (and maybe a small add like a 2nd round pick) or Nylander plus (Amirov and a first perhaps?).
