Quoting: Chabotrrorr
That's almost twice Buffalo's asking price...Realistically take out a first and the second

Too many picks, not enough, (or the right), prospects...

I agree thats what they want...

That's Kaiden Guhle

Agreed that this is a very key move for the future of their team...
What prospects or players do the Sabres have:
LW: Skinner (yes he will turn it around with a new coach), Olofsson (he does excel at PP but he did well was on pace to 20 goals without jack), Bjork, Asplund and Caggiula. Prospects Rosen and Peterka.
Center: Cozens, Mittelstadt, Girgensons and Eakin.
Prospects Ruotsalainen.
RW: Thompson, Hinostroza, Okposo.
Prospects Quinn
LHD: Dahlin, Butcher, Hagg. Prospects Power, Bryson, Samuelsson, Johnson
RHD: Jokiharju, Miller, Pysyk, Prospects Laaksonen
GK: Anderson, Dell. Prospects, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Levi.
I put a bold on the areas the need to be filled.
Lehkonen, Veteran LW, Buffalo's strongest NHL position
Guhle, Buffalo's deepest and best prospects
Armia, Buffalo weakest NHL and prospect position.
2023 1st round pick (MTL) and 2024 1st round pick (MTL) At this point, I find it hard to believe Buffalo would want to wait the 5 or 6 years for a draft pick to join the NHL team
So while there are seven pieces to this trade, only three fill the holes in the Buffalo rebuild, Armia and the two 2022 draft picks.
@Trevorchef said it best "Too many picks, not enough, (or the right), prospects." I hope the summary of the Sabres above explains why he is 100% accurate.
So if Montreal really wants Eichel they will not give up the pieces that Buffalo needs.
Please look at Buffalo needs it shouts CENTER and RIGHT WING, Montreal only has one that fits Buffalo's time line and we know the HABS will not do that, nor should they.
