You've got TWO 1st round picks + Broberg + Lavoie for a cap dump.

Gibson is a cap dump. You aren't getting any of these assets from Edmonton for him.

I'm just trying to prove that despite poor numbers, Gibson is not a cap dump and can still rebound

You can't prove that though. Only John Gibson can prove it, and he's had 2 years to prove it and hasn't succeeded yet. Maybe he can turn things around, but until he does he's a cap dump.

Ok fine, i cant prove it, but he is still better than Koskinen and Smith and i dont care what stats you show me

Here's a comp between Gibson and Koskinen:

    Past 2 years shots against/60
    Gibson: 31.08
    Koskinen: 32.70

    Past 2 years 5v5 shots against/60
    Gibson: 31.07
    Koskinen: 32.34

    Past 2 years 5v5 HD shots against/60
    Gibson: 8.78
    Koskinen: 8.50

So Koskinen faced more shots overall, more 5v5 shots and nearly as many 5v5 HD shots. Koskinen wasn't benefitting from a better defense, that's for sure. With that out of the way, lets look at how they performed:

    Past 2 years save percentage
    Gibson: .904
    Koskinen: .910

Past 2 years 5v5 save percentage
    Gibson: .916
    Koskinen: .915

Past 2 years 5v5 HD save percentage
    Gibson: .814
    Koskinen: .833

I'm not seeing "miles better", are you? What I'm seeing is that Gibson has worse results than Koskinen despite a slightly lighter workload. And yet somehow you label Koskinen as a "cap dump" while asking for TWO high-end prospects + TWO 1st round picks for the worse player with a larger contract.

    You should try it too!

I could name you 20+ teams where Koskinen would be a backup, some of which he wouldn't even be playing in the NHL (namely MTL, DAL, NYR, NYI, VAN, TOR, BOS and many others)

So? Tearing down Mikko Koskinen doesn't add anything to John Gibson.

I couldn't care less if I'm the only person with 20/20 vision. I have no problem looking at the facts and stating them. I don't care about Gibson's reputation - if he's not performing I'm going to say so.

The fact that you say things like "sh-tty goalie tandem" just shows how ignorant you are:

    in the past 2 years
Leafs allowed 30.1 SA/GP (13th in the league)
    Oilers allowed 31.4 SA/GP (21st)
    Ducks allowed 31.4 SA/GP (22nd)

    - and yet -
    Oilers allowed 2.91 GA/GP (12th in the league) +9
    Leafs allowed 2.94 GA/GP (14th) -1
    Ducks allowed 3.17 GA/GP (25th) -3

The Oilers goaltending tandem vastly outperformed the defense corps in front of them, while the Leafs and Ducks goalies underperformed.

Isn't it astounding that this guy is actually arguing that Koskinen is a better goalie than Gibson? And that his cherry-picked figures prove that?

Getzlaf = i think i added in like a 4th or something, thats for getzlaf
Gibson = Koskinen, Broberg, Lavoie and a 1st

    How is that bad??

Gibson is just not close to being worth 1 A level prospect (Broberg) and B level one (Lavoie) and 2 first !!!!!!! Koskinens cap dump value isnt anything given hes in his final year of his contract, Oilers could just burry him and save all of the assets youre apparently suggesting theyd need to dump him

Ok thats better haha but I think maybe it would be a 1st Lavoie + something else, because i think the oilers really like Broberg(I dont) but given how much they like him I doubt they move him for all that especially when you see What Kuemper was delt for (1st and Timmins)
