Honestly why does Fleury want to go to Vegas? He has all the cards, either he can get traded to a team he consents to or the Pens have to buy him out and he can go anywhere he wants. Why would he chose to go to a team that isn't even gonna make the playoffs for what remains of his serviceable career?

Even if Flower waives, VGK won't take him... they will take a forward from you guys. Too many young goalies out there that are better, plus they can sign Bishop to a contract.

I'd be surprised if he did end up in Vegas but it's not impossible, I can see the appeal for Vegas and maybe he decides he could enjoy it there being one of the better players on the team

Whatever makes flower happiest is, I think, Very important to pittsburgh's management and fans, so if he says no, this never happens

for a free second they take flower, Bishop and Flower are almost identical as players, but bishop comes with a bigger price tag and flower ages out in a few years which might actually be appealing if they take one of Detroits younger goalies. If anything, they ought to be looking to take a Dman from us, it is likely one of Schultz, Dumo, or Maatta would be available unless the pens protect 4 and 4, which is why the flower deal is important to the pens. If the pens somehow end up not sticking with 3-7 protection that leaves VGK with... Rust? they'd be better off with flower

if we protect 4D Hagelin is available and will be selected.

We are probably going to buy out MAF.

I like the idea of fleury in Vegas. He's a big name that will sell jerseys there. I also think that he would waive there. He wants to start. That's #1 for him. I also think that he has a level of respect for the penguins managment that he wouldn't force them to go down the buyout route. If Vegas is interested in selecting him, I think he'd waive

I actually would agree that Bishop is also having a down year. The cap hit is still a huge hurdle for MAF though. Just that there are a TON of options at goalie.

You're under paying almost on all of your signings. I understand these guys had success with the Pens, But it's about money too for the players. Schultz, Bonino, Kunitz will all want more. And like most comments here, VGK has a lot of goalie options, they really don't need to take Fleury. I see him being traded to another team instead, that'll bring some asset back for the Pens.

For those who think it's not a good idea for a veteran player to go to Vegas, I think it's a great idea for some. If a guy can get a foothold onto the a new franchise, the possibilities for jobs....publicity, broadcasting are a better for players with a new franchise after their careers are over. And in Fleury's case, what else can he in Pittsburg?....I think he should waive, though I don't know why Las Vegas would claim him. There are much better goalie options in my opinion.

Fleury's best bet is probably to just get bought out and have his choice of teams to sign with this summer. He's got 2 years @ $5.75 mil left (total of $11.5). With a buyout, he'll be paid a total of $7.67 mil (over the next 4), plus whatever he makes by signing with a team of his choice. Hard to imagine him not being able to increase his potential earnings, while not having to play for an expansion club.

    Yeah no.

Schultz was terrible outside pittsburgh and is RFA, absolutely no leverage whatsoever

Kunitz is worth NOTHING. He wouldn't even be in the lineup. He's lucky I offered him anything.

If bonino doesn't step up his game this year he may not even get an offer from us

and yeah vegas may not take flower but this is a scenario for if flower goes to vegas so that really doesn't matter.
