One of the best penalty differential D of his era

So if Detroit retain 50% I think a second is ok

    Pretty good player otherwise too

Sure looks like the Leafs can't do that trade for cap reasons. Gotta think Liljegren has earned a top 6 job (so far)

Yeah I would think they would have to ask for retention for this. Just nervous about the depth behind the top 4 D.

Well you can't have too many capable NHL Dmen on your team. I find it difficult to understand to folks say 1st, 2nd or 3rd D, Seems like they virtually all play the same minutes.
At on left side, Reilly gets the most minutes due to PP time, But the Leafs try to avoid putting him on the PK. So is he a 1D?

Leafs are too crowded. Not much sense in giving up a pick just to put a player on waivers.

At the deadline with 50% retained you can have Stecher for Liljegren straight up.

That's why Stecher to Toronto doesn't make a whole lot of sense from Toronto's pov.

Late 2nd, early 3rd right now. At the TDL, all depends how his season goes... Could drop to a low pick or rise as high as a late 1st with retention.
