Remind me why arizona, the team undergoing the most obvious tank job in the cap era, is trading high futures for a rental?

So they can flip him at the deadline, this is a cap dump

Do you think there’s a snowballs chance in hell they’ll flip him for more than a 1st and timmins? Me neither.

Also, why doesn’t the cap exist for Toronto?

It's really bad for the Leafs. Leafs are worse this season, remember Eichel isn't playing. Too much futures given up.

I have seen better or worse but you are probably right - I could have done better with that. Well TOR manipulate the cap sure, but this isn't far fetched to be honest.

Of the 31 teams to trade for rielly, arizona is the least likely. It’s preposterously far fetched.

this is true, technically two first round picks and one of the most highly touted prospects in the league and they wont see the guy they traded for until next season

Leafs like Vegas are in win mode. I can't see Vegas giving up cap players (to make the trade work) and futures to obtain Eichel either.

That is best case scenario and those don't always work out that way.

I don't know how Buffalo gets value from trading Eichel straight up. More realistic to trade him for a roster player and picks/prospects and then flip the roster player for more futures.

laugh laugh Buffalo easily laugh at that offer, And FYI Jack Eichel isn't even going to play this year. I just love how everyone that trades for Eichel think he's magically going to be playing this year. At minimal he's going to be 5 months away from playing and that's after his surgery that he's nowhere close to getting.

Just what Leafs need another 10 million dollar forward, while depleting the already decent but not great, defense. In this scenario you have Dermott playing top minutes and have you have two kids playing on your 3rd line. On top of all that you have a 21 man roster and are still over the cap.
