Selling this year to build next year. Leave caufield all year in Laval with poehling so they learn to play and learn to win in a good atmosphere. Sell everyone on their last year contract at the trade deadline to max all the pick you can. Prepare for the draft and next year will be better. We sacrifice this year for a great future.

There is one Montreal-born, HOF goalie serving in a front office position today...

    Isn't Brodeur?

I don't want Patrick Roy as a GM... too hot headed for my taste. I don't actually mind MB.

    Just get rid of timmins.

Chevy would look pretty moronic to trade a 1st for Chiarot after letting him walk cause of one year of term he didn't want to give, I like Benny but he's just not worth giving a 1st for, Jets really should keep their 1st for the 22 draft especially considering they traded their 2nd for Dillon.

    Chiarot isn't worth a 1st even at 100% retained.

I understand what you're trying to do with all these trades but go take one look at Habs picks between 2010 and 2018, only 11 of 62 picks in that period have played over 100 NHL games and 38 of them have never even played an NHL game and another 9 have played fewer than 50. I'm not sure having 14 picks in rounds 2-7 will do the Habs much good other than provide additional depth in Laval. They could get "lucky" and draft a guy in the middle rounds that surpasses all expectations but those picks are often just that, lucky. Even the Lightning passed on Kucherov in 2011 and passed on Brayden Point 3 times, picking two two guys that have never played an NHL game ahead of Point. If the Lightning truly knew those two guys would become the type of players they have become they would not have passed on both of them to pick the likes of Namestikov, Deangelo, Masin and McLeod.

Yeah, Brodeur is one of the Asst GMs here in New Jersey. (Previously was Asst GM to St. Louis Blues).

Considering he grew up in MTL, his father was Habs photographer, and he was huge Habs fan growing up, It could be one GM role I could see him leaving NJ for.

He had his whole career in NJ - He doesn't want to leave I'm sure. MTL is a hard market to be a GM... look at MB he looks aged like American president at the end of their second term.
