Its not a rumour, this is all steaming from a really bad Avs writer for the Denver Post Mike Chambers thinkining that Avs offered Girard bc they were linked to Eichel, but Friedman reported it himself that names were never discussed bw the 2 teams

Chambers is a moron and now every rumour site is launching onto a bad headline thinking its a rumour. Chambers has 0 connection to signings, trades, etc for the Avs, he has never one broken a story or signing.

No, this is coming from a lot of insiders. I've seen both TSN and the Athletic members talk about the Avs entertaining the idea of a Girard trade because of the emergence of Byram. Toews is also healthy now which does help entertain the idea of moving him. It would free up 5 mil for a heavy cap crunch coming up this summer. It's more than just a stupid idea from a a local writer. There's genuine traction here. I'm not sure that he's on the block, which is why I say there are rumors, but where there's smoke, there's fire.

I watch Insider trading every day, they were not talking about Avs shopping Girard.

That is not enought, even if Giard was available.

It also doesn't make a ton of sense, Sens have LD Sanderson and RD JDB coming mostly likely by season end and staying in line up for years. So there wouldn't be enough $$$$ and ice time to go around in the near future.

Not add but replace Sanford by a good prospect (what are their needs?) and upgrade the 3rd to a 2nd

Not sure Ottawa would like to go that route (depending on the prospect) and unless there's a dispute between Girard and the Avs, they won't/shouldn't trade his contract
