It's a fair trade, but Anaheim would need to dump salary to pull this off.

Two starting Dmen, young and cheap on an ELC and most RFA contract for two years of Duchene. Wish you had done with the Ducks roster cause I guess Duchene's 6m contract doesn't fit with the Ducks. Money aside, why would the Ducks do this trade?

I feel like its not enough tbh. sakic is asking for: a top prospect, NHL ready d man, and a first round pick. think what a guy like Jordan staal got. a top prospect / top 10 pick (pouliot), a good 3rd line centre (at the time) and a b level prospect (dumo). duchenes trade value is also fairly higher then staals at the time. AND shero was forced to trade staal to only two teams (NYR, AND CAR).

Shocking out of you...do you actually look stuff up before you post? 2 Starting Dmen? You know Shea Theodore isnt on the Duck, hes been up and down this year but hes been in the AHL since Feb 17th...last time being called up on Feb 2nd, being healthy scratched for most of those games before being sent back down...Hes still a prospect. Manson is not on his ELC, he is already on his 2nd contract with arb rights after 2017 season. Theodore is the only one still on an ELC.

And look at the ROR trade when you look at the pieces. A top NHL D prospect, A good nhl fwd prospect, a young NHL fwd, and a high pick (31st) overall. Im sure if they swapped out the 2nd and one of the fwds it would have been a 1st instead. Why people say its too much, its basically the same trade package you see over and over again for that 24-25 year old big name NHL C/W

Well, that is much more closer than you previous suggestions. I feel like this might be a slight overpayment by the Ducks, but it can be balanced by minor picks and prospects, the major pieces to the deal are really good and make sense for both teams IMHO

I'm ignoring what Sakic wants.

I get that and its not a crazy thing that you re doing but the Avs aren't making up the value for him out of thin air. The trade precedent for guys like Duchene are out there. And no Hall for Larsson did not sent the market, that was just Edmonton having to meet the demands of a team for their Number 1 Dman...a RHDman at that which is the only one they had after they traded for him bc the 2 that they had in Schultz and Petry were given away for peanuts

Manson is one of the best shut-down D in the league, young and cost-controlled; Theodore is a top D prospect. Asking for anything more than that is just looking if there is a fool who buys that, but Sakic would gladly accept this deal from the Ducks.
Don't compare this deal to the Staal one, Shero did some black magic on that one

He also hast to be protected by the Ducks, so unless they can get Bieksa to waive his NMC, be exposed to the expansion draft making the Ducks go 8 Skaters in order to protect Fowler, Lindholm, and Vatanen w/ Manson. They might be losing him for free.

The Ducks are going to be one of the most interesting teams to watch going into the draft. They have a lot of good players and really bad NMCs that are going to force them to lose someone of extreme value.

wait what? How does that even make sense and why is that even relevant? So Nuge who is playing on a team with one of the best players in the world with less points and more games played than Duchene, who is playing on one of the worst offensive producing teams in Hockey History. His only sub-par year in his career....thats your comparison?

Why would the Ducks want Nuge...he doesnt play the Wing and hes not a better 2way Centre than Kesler or Getzlaf

Coming from an unbiased opinion where I am neither an avs or ducks fan, I think duchene is worth more then what was suggested. He's a player that is definitely capable of reaching 75 points. He's been an Olympic gold medalist. Duchene is much better then RNH in my opinion. There's a reason he was picked for team Canada. I still don't see duchene being a fit in ANH though as he's better as a centre
