If B’s downgrade in a 1 for 1, Appleton in Seattle, and supposedly on the table, is a better choice. His 900k cap hit sells it.

Only retained for like 3 months though. Get a 1st, a really good prospect in Behrens, and a former 1st rounder who needs a change of scenery in Kaut

I get that but Behrens is tearing it up at DU and is definitely the kind of guy that makes a deal look real good in a couple of years.

JoJo deservedly gets some grief lately but people tend to forget he is the 3rd goalie. Just having a healthy roster would be a big impact.

i didn’t say no to the deal, just kind of underwhelming, this is decent but I have a feeling we will get a better return.
the first will be a 24-30 range and i doubt either player ever reach a level close to Hertl, it’s more quantity over quality.

To a team Hertl will accept a trade to? I’m not arguing but who meets that requirement that can make a trade?

honestly not 100% sure and your making an increasingly valid point. i hate when people argue with me and post logical thought process.

He will take a trade to anyone going to the playoffs, he would rather play in the postseason than sit in San Jose and do nothing.

I don’t think it’s a great deal for San Jose. Most likely a late first the next season, Kaut who hasn’t met close to his hype and Behrens is good but sharks would prefer a RD or C. They already have multiple LD prospects.

This has always been my thoughts. He doesn’t just want to go to a playoff team say somebody like NSH, CBJ or team you KNOW isn’t in real contention to win the Cup. So look at legit Cup contenders, VGK and TBL don’t really have any assets or cap space to make a move. Does anybody think MIN is a real threat and if so can they make the cap work? Beside the Avs I’d think the Rangers might be the most compelling because they don’t need retention and have some interesting pieces. At least that’s my opinion.

i was thinking Boston NYR Colorado and Calgary would
all have a chance to resign him and Min, Edm, Tor, would find ways to get him to work but only as a rental

DeBrusk isn't good, Compher is more valuable at this point and Colorado needs his versatility to play anywhere in the lineup considering their injuries.
