That toninato is growing on me, harkins and svech have continued chemistry from preseason. 1 is 1, Dubois is fast being able to play with anyone, copp and ehlers compliment each other well. Line 3 not exactly sure about, definitely a smart pair in Lowry and stastny, and not sure on vesa, my take is same as when drafted, hopefully Finnish wheeler. Squad is starting to come together, nice to see.

Are you serious? Vesalainen was great and setup stonehands multiple times only to have it die on Lowry's stick like always, this team could be so much better with a better 3C.

The 4th line was quite good, really like all three of those guys.

I missed the game, just beeps on my phone for goals, I still say Lowry should be 4c and Gus 3c between wheeler and stastny, svech/vesa/ or harkins fill the hole in top 6. But never happen on Maurice watch.

Vesalainen was good again and there is improvement every game from him it seems, he needs to stay in the lineup. I would really like to see Gus centering Stastny and Vesalainen, would be great to have Stastny mentoring Gustafsson too, will never happen though unfortunately.

Yeah and this time Hellebuyck better watch himself as Mr. Gabriel gonna pay him a visit

Also Jets PK has allowed more goals in total than Vancouver so congrats

Me too, it's funny these are the lines that the coaching staff had penciled in during preseason but because of covid/injuries and then other line combos getting hot this is the first stretch with them.

The biggest takeaway to me tonight is that the Jets matched the Leafs 5v5 in the underlying numbers. It's really starting to feel like the penalty kill is the final hurdle to a consistently strong Jets team

Even if these aren't the line combos I'd run with, I hope PoMo puts the blender in the cupboard for a bit and just rides this lineup

I think Ves is one of those weird players that struggles on the 4th line but when he plays higher up the lineup he excels more. And agree on the 4th line, I would love to have Gus up here to pk but also don't want to take anyone out of the lineup atm!

MTL never went against a full Leafs squad either, Tavares got injured and I think Muzzin was out towards the end of the series as well if I'm remembering correctly.

The Jets beat a Leafs team on a back to back after traveling, without Marner and with their 3rd or 4th goalie who's a rookie, we probably shouldn't get too ahead of ourselves.

One way to improve the pk would simply be to put better skaters on it, Svech and Harkins should probably be killing penalties.

Any player would struggle on a 4th line if they're only getting 4-6 minutes a game or playing with someone who doesn't match their talent level at all like Nash.

I'd bring Gus up to center the 3rd line and have Stastny mentor him, that could be huge for Gus' development having a two-way vet like Stastny on his line.
