Caps won't have a lot of cap coming back, and even with dumping Kempny, I don't think they will want to pay the price, both in cap space and picks, for a marginal upgrade in De Haan.

I don't think it's as far off as you think it is. Both Strome and Nylanders upsides are higher than Debrusk and Studicka. And Nylander has definitely performed better than Studnicka through their careers up to this point. Alex Nylander is also considered by most to be more technically skilled than his brother William, which is saying a lot I think, cuz William is someone I would love to have on any team I am rooting for. But technical skill doesn't always make up for work ethic and successful development so it's hard to judge this early on. Development under Bowman and Colliton was just a **** show of mismanagement and short attention spans.

A left shot equivalent of Yam (Hagell) with 3 years of a lower cap hit. A defenseman coming off a strong past year (injuries this year) with middle pair upside, and a likely next starting goalie - all on low cap hits next year which will be crucial.
