That is so bad for the Oilers it's ridiculous. Trading almost every valuable future asset for 3 meh additions?

All of the four "intra-trades" favor the Canadiens, resulting in a serious imbalance in Montreal's favor. In particular, I can't believe that with his contract, Price is worth more than the first or Bourgault plus Yamamoto and Koskinen.

Edmonton should not trade Holloway.

Didn't realize Bourgault was a 1st round pick, I get Yamamoto isn't living up to where he was drafted but he was a 1st round pick, Holloway was a 1st rounder so that plus two 2nds is a crazy amount of young controlled assets to be giving up. I get all the circumstances here like Montreal taking Kassian, the retention on Price and Chiarot and the term that Dvorak has but still this would be a really bad move by Edmonton.

Like I said, I didn't make the trade.

But I hate the Seattle didn't take Price for free argument when Price has 50% retained. That's comparing apples to ****ing roast beef. It's not even remotely the same.

I don't really care for this trade but I don't like the argument of X player was a first round pick.

Virtanen and Juolevi were top 10 picks, doesn't mean that's their value

I disagree.

Kassians deal is definitely going to cost a second to move.

EDM fans love Koskinen for some Stockholm syndrome reason but he's not a positive asset.

Chiarot at 50% retained for a first seems like accepted market value.

The Price part, I agree he's not worth it now

I agree with your comment, that Price at 50% Cap Hit is s bargain, and worth at least 1st and A Prospect. Regardless. the big challenge is if habs trade Price and still carry 50% of his cap hit for the rest of the contract, and pick up a 5M$ goalie, they are back to square 1. I dont see Price being moved in the next 2 years unless someone overpays just for him. As for Dvorak, just like all Habs having a tough season, but C are incredibly difficult to find, so you have to assume they could get a 1st there too.

I like the Oilers, but i see them needing a top 6 winger and a D and probably better off going after MAF

If Oil could get Toffoli (or Hoffman or another top 6 W) Chariot and MAF I think they could do a little damage

Kassian: two years older than Joel Armia, but less expensive and signed for two years instead of Armia's three. Kassian: 9 points in 22 games; Armia: 5 points in 27 games. Kassian won't take a second to move any more than Armia will.

Where did I say anything about Armia???? I've never said he was worth anything. I criticized the deal when it was announced.

No contender is going to want Kassian at his cap hit, and bott feeders around going to just take him for fun.

And? Like I said, I think Armia is also a bad contract and wouldn't expect anyone to trade anything for him.

MTL is just better off keeping him rather than paying to move him because of their current position.

If you actually think Kassian has value, maybe the Islanders should trade for him

take the hint that hes not worth his weight in gold.

habs fans act like his contract is the only thing wrong with him, ignoring his inconsistent and/or decling play, his age, his on ice injury issues, and his off ice personal issues that only showed up after he was offered up for free.

You have to learn to step outside your own narrow view and look at things from other perspectives. For example, you should know who you're talking to.

"You should know who you're talking to" lmao bro idk who you are. Nor should I. Nor do I care.

Whatever team you support, I doubt they would give up assets for Kassian but hey power to them if they want to.

In the cap world a guy making 3+ million needs to provide a lot more value than Kassian does to warant trading for him.

Says the guy that expects everyone on the internet to know who he is...

Seriously though I'm curious, do you honestly believe Kassian provides value in the salary cap world? Enough to merit trading for?

You can hide behind the "I didn't create this" line all you want, but you should feel a deep sense of shame for reposting the idea here. It's easily among the stupidest trades ever posted on site.

Armia would be a great pickup for a lot of teams, he's a good player having a rough season on a ****ty team, he could really help the Oilers bottom six.

You should post an AGM trading Pettersson for Lucic 1-for-1. You know, for "discussion". It'd make for a fun party conversation.

Sure, those are the same.

It costs you nothing to just ignore the post and not be a dick but I guess that's just too hard for you.

Sorry for taking so long to circle back to this.

It depends on what you mean by "provides value." Kassian (and Armia) clearly provide some bottom-6 on-ice quality that will be useful not just to their current teams but to a possible contender at the trade deadline. Are they worth their cap hits in isolation? No, but that won't stop somebody for acquiring one or both. I'd be willing to bet that at least one of them gets moved at the trade deadline, and it won't be for a negative return; some GM will have a need for depth at forward and will pay a low-range (4th to 6th) draft pick for him, especially if their club is willing to retain.
