There's one of these posted often about the Bruins bombing round one of the 2015 draft, pretty sure there was one posted earlier today.

    Lol.

So you asked the question. What if it had been different.

Well. Chabot, unlike having a direct path to playing time in Ottawa, toils in the minors for another couple of years before either he or Krug is traded.

Barzal, not a big goal scorer, more a creator and playmaker, skills are wasted and development slowed on 3rd line in Boston for years with terrible wings and playing a checking role.

Connor is an upgrade over Debrusk.

And who knows how every draft and offseason goes after that. Maybe they lose out on MaCavoy the next year as someone else takes him because their draft in 2015 was altered by Bostons picks. Maybe Boston finishes higher in the standings and drop in the draft.

Bottom line, nobody knows, they could be better off, they could be worse. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s funny that non-Bruins fans obsess about it more than Bruins fans do tho.

"Obsess" is strong but I'm sure bruins fans are thinking about it more this season. Either way it's hard not to wonder. Did the same thing with Canucks a couple of days ago, looking at their picks over the years. Just missed on Nylander, Pasta, Shea Theodore and Tkachuk. Interesting to think about. Emphasizes the value of first round picks and how they can setup or tank a franchise.

Most Bruins fans don’t give it a second thought. Just the ones that complain about everything. This team will win 6-1 and 20% of the fan base will complain about who didn’t score, the goal they allowed, who they beat. Etc etc. Those are the “fans” that whine about a draft from 6 years ago. The real fans are only focused on the next game on the schedule. Yesterday is gone.

Between now and then? They can’t.

They need to move Debrusk. Put and end to it.

They could shake things up in the Top 6. See if it sparks something. Call up Steen or Studnicka and put them at C2 and see what happens. Wether that means moving Coyle to RW2 or bump him to RW1 with Pasta coming down to RW2. They need to try something. And Steen deserves PT. I have always liked the idea of Foligno-Haula-Smith 3rd line.
