GM Game Master Thread

OK. Here's a game that people can play if they want where people can pretend to be the GM of a team, and we can make trades and stuff as if it's the offseason (no vegas expansion trades until we get closer to the expansion draft, though you may talk about those trades). You may ask for a team, and i will give you that team if it isn't already taken. My favourite teams are the Rangers and Islanders tied, so i'll be the Islanders. Each person may only be the GM of one team.

yeah, that was a dumb deal. Hinkie is the best GM of all time though. he got one third place vote for "executive of the year" the same year he was fired I believe


Thing with the NBA is that whole rule where the cap hit is discounted from the amount paid if the player resigns with his team so it creates these sign and trades that allows Cleveland to be under the cap because Lebron resigned with the Heat and got traded immediatley

You know, there's no need to insult someone because English isn't their first language. I think it's you who should start learning your language, last I checked "American" isn't a language. And while in your American schools you only learn about your country's ways, well French is actually an official language of the country that invented hockey, so there's no need to mock or make fun

Yeah for high school, we got to pick the topic and it didn't have to be 10 pages. But I kept adding stuff and I get done, and I'm like "oh s*** this thing is 10 pages" ?

Thats such an awesome topic to write about. Matt, if you still happen to have it, I would love to be able to read it at some point. Im a rising junior in HS and I am planning on writing about how the NBA RFA compares to the NHL RFA and the impact that each of them have on their respective league, just for leisure.

Thanks man. I'd love to read anything about sports. If you follow NBA, you check out "The Ringer." Its a great place for NBA and Pop Culture, but they have hockey and baseball on there

Sweet, and I found the paper. I misspoke about it being 10 pages earlier (it's only five), but it was actually a speech outline, and I ended up speaking for 10 mins, 37 seconds apparently. We were only supposed to speak for 3-4 mins laugh
