Chevy asks for my help in the off-season

Created by: alwaysnextyear
Team: 2017-18 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 16, 2017
Published: Mar. 24, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Philly trade: The Jets use their depth in RHD to get a good younger forward and a high end D prospect that doesn't need expansion protection. Schenn is also a good option at 2C if the Jets can't come to an agreeable contract extension with Little the following year.

Expansion protection list:
Scheifele, Wheeler, Little, Schenn, Lowry, Copp, Dano
Trouba, Myers, Enstrom
Hellebuyck

Free Agency;
1) Sign Alzner to be Trouba's defensive D partner on the left side.
2) Sign Darling (and Hellebuyck) to 3 year deals. This is enough time for Darling to prove whether he can be a true starter and for Helle to continue developing.

4 50-pt campaigns, 4-time all-star selection, 102 mph shot... and hits aren't just hits. He makes his presence on the ice known. I'd call it effective defending.

I love the trade, but I think Darling will get a bit more money. Sign him for 4 years $16 mil, and let him share plenty of starts with Hellebuyck. That's a pretty good roster.

Buff to Philly is like a match made in heaven. Hell, if your from the east and have to play against him. I know Philly fans want a full rebuild but considering if they get Buff they'd only need to shore up the goaltending position and they'd be a playoff certainly again.

Honestly I think there hasn't been one single comment you've made on here that I've agreed with yet.

It's unbelievable how off base his thinking is. It's like he's watching a different sport

As a flyers can don't really want to move sanheim until he's played a few games in the NHL to see what we really have with him, but for the trade to work is want a forward prospect in return as well. Someone with size and top 9/middle 6 potential
