I thought we went over this with Habs fans, but let's go again.

Colorado has no interest in Price, we will not ever have interest in Price. We are not giving up our best defensive prospect for Price.

The term is too long on his contract. We have no intention on becoming the bad contract capital of the world.

You can only retain salary on 3 contracts per the CBA.

Sorry, a "rebuild" does not happen when overpaid players, especially ones with term are traded without getting equally bad cap in return. Teams just can't afford the same cap mistake the Habs made for themselves.
