Not a bad package, but I don't know if Carolina ships Brendan Smith back to Det roit, as he's been a nice depth guy for them this season

I doubt we will see Brendan Smith back in Detroit. He had a rough interaction with Jim Devellano. Curious the development of Bokk as I haven’t followed him since his draft year.

The Canes' only true roster weakness is that we don't really have a good PPQB#2 with Gardiner out for the season. Leddy would be a good fit here.

It would likely be a three-way with Smith going to a 3rd team. Also, I really like Bokk's play in Chicago, but he was royally snake-bitten early in the season. He could be a nice depth scorer, however, in the NHL some day, which Detroit could definitely use.

I don't see Smith coming back to Detroit either. Other than that I think the value is pretty even.

My heart can't take seeing Brendan Smith playing in a Red Wings jersey again.

I appreciate the idea, but there are better PP QB's available than Leddy. TDA is already a defensive black hole. Let's not have two of them. Cole's steady and he's physical which makes him a great playoff piece. Getting a backup that's better than Raanta or adding a 3 LW would probably be more valuable uses of the team's capspace.

Detroit have plenty of prospects who project as depth scorers. Their need is at 1/2C no team wants to give up a prospect with that potential, nor should they so its got to be draft picks.

I feel like every elite farm is in need of a top center prospect outside of the LA Kings. You're probably going to get that with your next high pick, not from a Nick Leddy trade, JS!

Oh yeah, the most likely chance is from the Detroit pick, but another pick in the late first buys you another kick at the can. Detroit as a fan base, and honestly, debatably as an organisation has a chip on their shoulder about the draft lottery, and I think as a result is becoming more supportive of taking swings on higher risk higher upside players. See Buium, Cossa, Wallinder, Niederbach etc.
