Jones is a good player. Although Skinner also looked not bad this season, but Chicago won't trade like this.

Jones is way more valuable then Skinner and especially at Skinner's cap hit. Connolly can be bought out in the offseason for cheap, plus part of his cap is already absorbed in the AHL. Johnson isn't a great situation at $5M and injured but easily would rather have Jones + Johnson over Skinner

If he keeps playing like he is now he wouldn’t be worth the contract but he still be a useable top pairing guy
