Interesting concept on the Detroit trade. Only problem is that Nedeljkovic said he will only play for Detroit as its where his fiancé lives.

Hard pass from Detroit. Nedeljkovic will be our starter for years to come.

He'll probably get there in a few years, but goalies are NEVER a sure thing... if Cossa tears it up and unseats Ned, we trade Ned then... you never give up goalies that are good, until they're unseated by real, NHL play, not potential alone.

It's not an awful trade value wise either in my opinion. Smith for this season, skinner for next and a good centre prospect which Detroit lacks. But yeah probably better off just sticking with him so we at least have a sure thing.

That was my thought process yea. For some reason I thought Raymond was a C until I looked at it further.

Aside from the absurdity of both of these trades, good luck with Holland building you a "good team",

Beyond the concerns others mentioned from DET's end, zero chance I give up anything close to that much for Ned. Goalies are a volatile commodity. It wasn't long ago that Ned was pretty much exactly where Skinner is now. Paying the equivalent of a 1st alone would be nuts- let alone + a young goalie trending in the same direction.

One could argue trading 1st rd picks is a smart move since Holland is much better at drafting players after the 1st round.
