Bye Chychrun

Created by: Kartana

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 9, 2022
Published: Jan. 9, 2022

Description
I haven't made any trade scenarios for Chychrun as I didn't believe the rumors, but it seems to be real now. That makes me upset, but it is what it is.

Apparently the cost is at the level of the return for Eichel. Something around 3-4 pieces. Last night on HNIC they said a (good) young roster player, high end prospect and 1st round pick. Depending on the players it's 3-4 pieces. Steep, but it has been "huge" all along.

We weren't entertaining offers in the summer, but now we do. And he hasn't asker for a trade. I wonder what changed; maybe teams upped their offers or we came down a little bit. The fact that "a couple of offers have made us stop and think" leads me to belive the proposals are quiet good.

I'll try to do some offers from the rumored teams and believed price. Maybe they are too high (tends to be the case with me but in the end often quiet accurate), but I'd like to hear thoughts. Maybe even get roasted, haha.

A difference between the value of Eichel and Chych will be :
1) the incredible contract Chych is at
2) no health consideration
3) Chych immediately is available to play (barring sudden injury)
4) the premium everyone pays these days for top pairing D men.

Honesty the haul should be substantial for this player. For example, as a Toronto fan my offer would be:
- Sandin (young top 4 D man with high ceiling)
- 1st in 2023
- Niemela (top prospect)
- cap dump of Ritchie

The Ducks are rebuilding. I'd love Chychrun on the Ducks (everyone should want Chychrun on their team), but giving up the 2nd and 3rd best prospect + a 1st is not something the Ducks should do at this point in time.

Erm, why is the Blues ask way bigger than the others? Doesn't matter because I can't imagine that Scandella waives.

Blues likely accept since Scandella is involved. I'd rather include Bolduc than Neighbors though.

Yeah, you guys have drafted well. Some nice pieces making a difference now and that will soon. When making the proposal it either seemed to be too much or too little, so probably not a good fit.

I very much agree with everything. I don't think a lot of proposals catch that and that is also why most of mine may seem like big overpayments. I think your proposal is a good one. Better than many I've seen. I'd like Knies included somehow (Arizona ties), though, but understand if you guys like him after his season so far.

I get that. Perhaps not the best proposal from me, but it was difficult making it.

I have a hard time seeing the fit, unfortunately. A high end prospect is key in my opinion and I just don't see that in Boston's system.

I don't see the pieces holding the same quality as that of the others. The 1st is likely the lowest. Neighbours is really nice, but a winger. Kostin and Perunovich aren't special by any means.

It's not really about the value, but Anaheim just isn't in the position to do this trade.

Perunovich isn't special? Eh? Where'd you get that idea from? And what does Neighbours being a winger have to do with anything? Have you seen their wing stable moving forward? Arizona needs a lot of everything. I also wouldn't sleep on Kostin. His skating, use of space and physical maneuvers are already on point. And he's been more responsible tactically than I expected. If he ever stops hitting posts (five at my last check) and getting robbed, he'll be plenty scary.

Oi vey...

1- Does it necessarily need to be the word "special"? And what exactly qualifies as special anyway?
2- You asked for one name in the game. I gave you one, a media member who specializes in prospect analysis. Not sure what the disconnect is here.

Anyway, here's an old tweet from a few months back that gives you an idea of his opinion of Perunovich.

Well i guess that you’re right that we haven’t really defined special. I kind of thought everyone would have a similar definition. Jumps off the page. Very unusual. Abnormally good.

This statement doesn’t say that. It could be interpreted as a slight on the blues d core.

From the bruins side of things, i could say, “Matt grzelcyk is definitely one of the top three d men in the bruins organization.” It’s true. He’s not special. He’s not close to special. He’s a good player though. I think the same could be said of perunovich. He’s a good player. He’s not special.
