I think the only deal Canucks would accept would be centred around Boeser/Poolman for Marino

That VAN trade makes the Pens worse IMO.

I also can't see any way WSH makes that trade. They don't have the space to just take on $5.5M like that.

Ahh yes lets value him based off a 6 game sample size of him being good vs a 800 game sample size of him being bad.

What if Pens add Crosby, will that be enough to get Tyler Myers?

Myers performance doesn't look like a fluke, I think Canucks fans have seen enough over what is actually more like a 9 game sample size to recognize that

9 games isn’t a big sample size either, plus Marino is easily better than Myers even with him being “worth the money”

No he isn't LMAO. It's fair to say he's improved, but he's not playing at level that justifies paying him $6 million.

No, but he's not very far below, he's certainly playing well enough to warrant him being a positive asset though

Of course Marino is more valuable than Myers, nobody is debating that. Myers was good in his first season in Vancouver as well, it's not like all of a sudden he's become good for Vancouver for the very first time

If Myers was making $4 - 4.5mil per, his contract would be fine. Hes overpaid and should never be anywhere near your top pairing, but he logs a lot of minutes for Van. He has been okay most of the year, but he looks awful when he tries to do too much, takes stupid penalties. Hes not Chara, hes not Byfulgien...closer to Zadorov (big, but not physical- and very limited offense).

Yet here you are proposing a trade for him. Myers has been good all season and really good since the change in coaching staff.
Your proposed trade isn't a fair deal and the Canucks would pass. Trading Boeser for Marino would fill a need for the Canucks. If you include Myers in the trade, now we still need another RHD and no longer have Boeser. I'd do Marino and a 2nd for Boeser.

Myers doesn't take stupid penalties, at least not consistently, and he's played well enough to be a 2nd pair caliber d-man this season for sure, he isn't trying to do too much or force plays when it's not advisable to do so anymore. He even stated as much in a media availability, and he's better than Zadorov, and he's pretty decent offensively too

9 games isnt a sample size of any significance. Rust has 11 points in his last 3 games whereas McDavid and Draisaitl have 5 combined... By your logic we could trade rust and get both of them plus a couple 1sts back

No, that's not what I meant at all. If the Canucks even consider looking to move Myers, it won't be until the trade deadline at the earliest giving him more run way to prove his stock if any teams should be interested on taking a flyer
