Here's my opinion and I'm not trying to be rude...

Even if you guys wind up making the playoffs which has more to do with being in a weak division than it does for how good you guys you are, you're closer to a rebuild than being an on-going contender. I personally wouldn't trade away any significant futures and focus more on some solid depth moves for the playoff run. While anything can happen, it's unlikely you'd make it passed the second round.

IMO it's unlikely that Konecny would be traded at deadline

I don’t see why konecny would get moved.

I also really don’t see why the sharks would ever be buyers.

Which is why the title begins with 'IF'

It might be a weak division but most of our games this year have been played outside the division. In fact we have only played 4 divisional games out of 37 (2 wins over Calgary, 1 loss to Seattle, 1 loss to Vancouver)

The next month will be the toughest stretch of games yet, if we come out alive we might be buyers.

I didn't think so either. But I'm a fan of him so I made an effort.

I get that, I just mean looking passed this season. Are you guys really a regular playoff team? If there is some kind of re-tool going on and they believe they are, then sure, moving futures like that makes sense, but IMO if you're still inching closer to a rebuild then I think it would be unwise to give up assets like that and would just focus on bolstering depth.

Gregor and Chmelevski are not at the top tier of our prospects.

Elite Tier: Eklund
A+ Tier: Bordeleau and Robins
A Tier: Coe, Gushchin and Wiesblatt
B+ Tier: Kniazev
B Tier: Chmelevski, Gregor, Leonard, Reedy, Gaudreau

That's fine and let's say respectively, 50% of them make it because we know that's just reality of the prospect game. How far away are they from making an impact? A good year or two for developing, none will develop at the same pace, so maybe three or four until they have a sustainable impact?
