Description

Been seeing alot of Petry to Detroit for Hronek lately. There are only two ways it would happen.

Add in Suzuki to make up the value for taking on Petry for the next 3 years and for the value of a young top 4 RD with a good contract and team control.

Or add in Montreal's first round pick this year with no protection to make up the difference.

Montreal fans won't like it but that's minimum what it would take as far as I'm concerned. Detroit has zero desire to move Hronek and even less desire to bring in a 34 year old having the worst year of his career with a big contract and term.

Yzerman isn't trading a 24 year old Hronek for a 34 year old Petry. Can't see the Habs trading Suzuki. Wings and Habs don't make good trade partners right now. Hronek is a part of the rebuild. I can't see Habs fans being interested in this unless they're getting Hronek for a pound of poutine.

Not sure why Montreal fans have likely been trying to ship Petry here other than the fact he is from here. Detroit shouldn't take his contract unless that had a good sweetener such as Carolina First+ Washington Second + Peohling, Suzuki, or Caufield, or their own first.

I would, Hronek has never had a 40 point season Petry has he'd 4 in a row. Sure Petry might be having an off year but I would still value him more than Hronek who n his 4 year career so far hasn't been much more productive than Justin Braun.
