Dallas declines, Arizona declines, are you high by the time you created the third offer?

Those are two horrid trades. First the the Leafs get ripped on the Habs trade, and then Arizona gets ripped.
Actually I wouldn't mind the Dallas trade. But certainly don't want to resign the unneeded Klingberg as part of the deal. He's not worth anywhere near a seven year contract.

All of these are terrible for TO. Marner is so much better than what they are getting in return. It's just insane to say otherwise and Crouse has become one of the most overrated players in the world. He's a bottom 6 player on any good team who isn't good defensively but hits a lot. He's a faster Ritchie. Who we all know didn't make a mark in TO. The Habs deal is just stupid, any one piece is worth more than that plug.

That one doesn't make them better either. Crouse would be hard pressed to make the Leafs. He has more offence than Engvall but is way worse defensively, most don't seem to agree with me but I definitely want my bottom 6 to get scored on, we get enough offence elsewhere in the lineup.

So you would just jettison Marner for straight up cap space? That is insane. What do you propose to do to replace him?

If the Leafs actually did that trade with Montreal in real life I think I'd have a heart attack

I wouldn't make the trade this season. But as you know I've been a proponent of trading 11m Marner for cap space. Trading Marner for 11m cap space this summer. I'd do it.

He's convinced Leafs would be better off spending their capspace on overpriced UFAs.

How to spend 11m X 3 years Marner. Maybe don't lose Sandin to offer sheet takes up some of. Maybe sign Campbell. Not exactly sure who takes over on RW.

That's not true....I would prefer to retain some of the Leafs that might be lost because of the cap situation.

Yeah, the team certainly improves by bringing back everyone but their 24yo 90pt 2 way playmaking winger.

No one needs someone like that.

Actually the Leafs did quite well when Marner was injured. Next season the Leafs with the current roster. 7 players making 53m....leaving 15 players making 20m. I just think the Leafs will worse next season if they keep their top 7. The three Dmen can't be traded, neither can Tavares. That leaves Matthews, Marner and Nylander

I don't see why anyone would offer sheet Sandin. He's a good young player but he hasn't blown any doors off. I think he'll get a 2 year bridge and then we'll see.

Yeah, tough time scoring on worst team in the league, or blowing leads every night. Great stretch of hockey!!

Capspace is made by moving Kerfoot types and replacing them with Robertson, not moving Marner types and replacing them with nothing. That is how teams get worse.

Sorry, cap space isn't made by trading a 3.5m player who is the fifth best forward on the team,. Then you got to replace him. Thanks a ridiculous argument you made. If you think Marner is a difference maker and worthy of his 11m fine. Just my opinion the Leafs can do much better trading him and shoring up other positions now and long term. Sorry if it's so painful that to you that some one has a different opinion.

Ridiculous argument I made.

You're worried about losing the 5th best forward, but willing to lose the 2nd best forward for nothing.

How many teams have traded their 20 min per night 90 pt 24 yo in order to clear cap?

You're delusional. Not in my discussion do the Leafs leave an 11m hole in their lineup. Stop make such silly falsehoods just so you can present your opinion. As a said don't like my opinion, fine, but I guess you never had anyone else disagree with you. Get use to it. Good bye.

It's a superstar driven league. Leafs are a worse team without Marner today and going forward, unless he's traded for a crazy overpay. Not capspace.
