My opinion on what it would take to get Brodin

Created by: rangersandislesfan
Team: 2016-17 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 31, 2017
Published: Mar. 31, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know a lot of people see Brodin as a middle-pairing guy comparable to Matt Dumba. But i see Brodin as a number one d-man on the average team (Maybe not on Minnesota, cause the have Suter). I think he is up there with Russell, Ceci, and more Defensive D-Men that don't score a lot in the most underrated players list. In my opinion Brodin is actually a really, really good Defenseman.

So no joke, this is what i think it might take to get Jonas Brodin.

You see Brodin up there with Ceci and Russell...and thats a really really good Dman to you? You just listened off the the poster boys of Middling Average Dmen.

Wild is just sending money to Bruins and Leafs without taking much in return,. Few teams can afford that deal. Teams with cap space could sign free agents without trading their entry level players.

I'm not saying Russell and Ceci are as good as Brodin, i just think they're up there in the most underrated players list.

And teams pay heavy to Minnesota why? They're the desperate one trying to get something for him before he gets taken by Vegas for nothing

If i was the General Manager, i would protect Brodin, so i wouldn't lose him for nothing.

Brodin whether he's protected or not is not worth that much.

He's not even at the top of the list in terms of his analytics numbers.

That's your opinion. There's no right or wrong. Maybe he's a number 1 D-Man, maybe he isn't. It depends who you ask. To me, he is, but to you, he isn't.

What are you even saying?? That's the equivalent of me saying that Barrie is a #1 Dman. And then arguing that to me he is and to you, he isn't. Well, Barrie is not a good defender in his own end.

Brodin stats prove that he cannot keep up with the best of 'em. Maybe next year he comes out and dominates the whole league, then we could come back and say I was wrong and you were right. But as of right now, he's a top-4 Dman.

Wait, so do you think Barrie is a number 1 D-Man or not? Because i think he's pretty close. Maybe more like number 2 in my opinion, but top 2.

No Barrie is not a #1 Dman. Not even a top-2. Top-4? Yes.

    I'd call him top-2.

Edit: Well, in my opinion he's the best d-man on the avalanche, but they're the worst team in the league. So a number 1 d-man if you're talking on Colorado.

this is hilarious... you'd be lucky to get 1 1st rounder let alone half a teams prized prospects. Maybe you could get an NHL ready prospect and a 2nd or 3rd from a desperate team, but msot teams have the leverage on MIN
