I think If Boston traded Swayman they would regret it a lot in the Future. I don't think they should Trade Swayman

Edmonton declines.

Boston declines.

Both Boston and Seattle decline.

I don’t think you should trade Swayman. Trade Ullmark since he kind of is the odd man out especially because Swayman could become an elite goalie. Also that trade for Schiefele is a massive overpayment

That would be extremely easy for Winnipeg to turn down. Other than the firsts, there isn't a single piece Winnipeg needs or wants. It would need to be far less quantity and far more quality.

So you think 2 years of Mark S is worth more than 4 of Eichel huh? LMAO.

2 1sts a 2nd and Lysell is a bit of an overpayment as it is.

Nope, I didn't say that at all. I'm saying Winnipeg, or anyone, isn't trading a 1C for in a deal where they only valuable pieces are futures. The firsts are nice, Lysell is okay, but as I said there just isn't anything Winnipeg needs or would want if they are moving out a 1C.

Ya I’m out on Scheifele, definitely an elite player but 3 first rounders, Lysell is doing great in his first year in North America league, 1-2 punch of pasta and Lysell (if he continues to develop the way he is and it transitions to nhl level) would be very strong on right side for many years. Could definitely get a 2C plenty capable of keeping up with hall and pasta cheaper. If your looking for 1C it makes no sense to do it at TDL as your going to overpay hard for it, much better option to wait till off-season and sign a FA

I’d certainly listen on Scheifele but not for this offer.

The 1st will be in the 20s, Lysell is a right-hand shot which we need but is small like Ehlers, Perfetti, Connor who are already in our top 6, DeBrusk is more of the same middle-6 left shot guys that we already have an abundance of. Swayman could be a piece we try to get to set up the next core after Hellebuyck, but otherwise I don’t think there’s a good fit between WPG and BOS.

Teams do it all the time. Usually it’s a rental as opposed to a player with term. Then again Eichel - middle 6 wing and futures. So your argument does not hold water. Like it or not. That offer is an overpayment. May not fit need on Jets end, that’s a different story though.

It's funny that you think comparing a rental trade to trading a player with term is the same. And it's actually even more funny you think comparing the return that a team got for a seriously injured player that they were forced into trading compares to a team trading a player that they have no desire or intent to trade. Like it or not, the Boston assets may be valuable to you, but no one, absolutely no one is giving you a 1C on a great contract for 2 years after this one, for them.

I did not compare a rental trade tho did I?

If a team is trading a 1c they are rebuilding, if they are rebuilding they are looking for futures. Wether they are trading a rental or a player with term.

It is highly unusual for a competitive team to trade a 1C, if they did they’d be looking to stay competitive and would be looking for a now return.

The very notion of the Jets trading MS at this point is absurd. But the posters narrative was IF THEY REBUILD. In this make believe scenario, they would be looking for futures. And again, regardless of what you think of it, that is an overpayment from Boston’s end of it. Regardless of wether or not it hits on what the Jets needs are.
