Debrusk = Victor. Long term signability would be a problem for them though so i would not if i was them.

Boston has been steadfast that they want a forward of similar age and value. This fits the bill. But i think they should take a d man or pick/prospect instead. They don’t need another wing.

Olofsson is spent. His value when he isn't scoring is about zero, I'd expect the team to move on regardless of the return; just thought the DeBrusk idea could work since reports say BUF has expressed interest.

Do you watch Buffalo games? Do you watch player and coach interviews? Olofsson plays injured and can't normally shoot, do you see the difference in playing injured and spent? But even with an injury, he scores points with good passes. If Olofsson is spent, then DeBrusk is even more spent. Olofsson has outplayed DeBrusk by 30+ points in the last three seasons. I don't know why we would trade Olofsson in this trade, if you want Jake trade a second or third round for him and Boston maybe say yes.

BOS does not take this, older worse player never going to happen, former first rounder for 7th rounder. I guess maybe if BUF throws in a draft pick maybe BOS goes for it but last thing they need is bottom line winger

I know he's hurt, but even when he's healthy, he's just a shooter. If you think the Sabres are gonna be locking him up long term, I'd fancy a reality check for you. They should've traded him last year, tbh, and capitalize on his value when he was healthy.

I disagree, Olofsson has improved at ES under Granato, he's not only PP shooter. They won't be able to trade him at the deadline due to injury, his value will be minimal. Even an injured Olofsson is scoring more points than a healthy DeBrusk, a trade that doesn't work for Buffalo. I don't know what Adams' plans are for Olofsson, maybe an extension, maybe a trade, if we could renew him at a reasonable price I would do that, we'll see.

The only thing that’s true here is the VO is a year older. That’s it. He’s outperformed dubrusk for 3 years, especially this one while he’s hurt and still much better. Draft pedigree doesn’t matter 8 years after you’ve been drafted. There’s not a reason for Buffalo to do this.

Let's be candid, this is a bad trade for both teams.
Boston (and Buffalo for that matter) need defensemen this does not solve that problem.
Looking forward, Buffalo has other options at #2 LW, both Girgensons and Asplund have as many goals as Olofsson or Mittelstadt or Krebs could be moved to the wing.
Olofsson would be a good candidate to trade for a RHD.
As to the value, the past two seasons over 75 games DeBrusk has 11 goals and 27 pts, Olofsson over 89 games has 18 goals and 53 pts.
Unless DeBrusk is killing penalties (which he is not), that is a significant difference in their performance.
Even this season that Olofsson has been injured he is scoring at 0.64 pts/gm and DeBrusk is at 0.38 playing on a team that YTD has 11 more goals than Buffalo.
Let's look their BEST seasons Olofsson was at 0.78 pts/gm and DeBrusk was at 0.63 pts/gm.
DeBrusk may improve and regain his MoJo while I am not adverse to trading Olofsson, this is not a good deal for Buffalo.
